Memories of friendship and betrayal enlarges Puss' doubt, but he eventually agrees to help the egg get the magic beans. Together, the three plan to steal the beans, get to the Giant's castle, nab the golden goose, and clear Puss' name.

&#39;Puss in Boots&#39; is a character that rings true to anyone who&#39;s ever kept (because we all know you never truly &#39;own&#39; any cat) a ginger tom, the lead guitar player of the feline world. Casting him as a swashbuckling, devil may care, womanising, hero with a dark past (yet can still turn on the cutest of the cute when he has to) was truly a masterstroke and Antonio Banderas could not have been more perfect in the role, you half wish that he could have been so good as Puss&#39; human counterpart Zorro. We also have a perfectly cast Salma Hyek as the wonderfully named &#39;Kitty Softpaws&#39; (Ian Fleming would be proud) and seeing the 2 characters on screen you can just see the 2 actors so clearly in your mind. Frankly I would love to see them both together in a live action production, you get the impression that they would have such wonderful on screen chemistry. The dance fight at the tavern is hugely entertaining although you wonder at the tastefulness of moves such as &#39;The Litter Box&#39; in a children&#39;s film? Not to mention Jack and Jill&#39;s baby conversation? <br/><br/>The story is OK, I like the scene where Puss and Humpty are on the clouds and Humpty tells him to look down, reminding him of when they were both children at the orphanage who would stare up at the sky in wonder, you get the feeling that this wasn&#39;t part of the scam and that he actually meant it. <br/><br/>So all told a worthy spin off from the Shrek movies and if you weren&#39;t an auriphile before then it&#39;s probably enough to make you one.
Not bad for a cartoon! Puss in Boots is entertaining for both children and adults. The movie has several adult related jokes, and themes. One sees many homages to Westerns in Puss in Boots. The movie has the usual messages about friendship, and the hero turn villain who redeems himself into a hero again. The movie has it all: hero, villains, betrayal, love interest, and humor. My wife took me out to see Puss in Boots, and we both liked it. Funny how animation has changed. One never sees the old painted animation anymore that I remember, back in the day yes I am dating myself of the old cartoons. I give Puss in Boots a seven out of ten. Not a good fall for movies, but this one is a nice surprise. Funny how there was no scary movies this Halloween!
Puss in Boots doesn't have and doesn't strive for the soul of a Pixar film, but gets pleasure enough out of its own characters and the way they move through this cleverly realized world.
Puss N Boots is an animated fantasy adventure comedy western and a spin-off and prequel to Shrek, in which the Zorro-like Puss N Boots (Antonio Banderas), before he crossed paths with Shrek and Donkey, was an outlawed hero, seeking to clear his name, whom agrees to help Humpty Alexander Dumpty (Zach Galifianakski) his former friend who betrayed him and his accomplice Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) to steal magic beans from the notorious outlaws Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris) and break into the giant&#39;s castle and retrieve golden eggs and for Puss N Botts to clear his name. No, the producers kept all the other Shrek characters out of the story to avoid storyline conflicts with the then in-production <a href="/title/tt0892791/">Shrek Forever After (2010)</a> (2010).
